Will the h. CG Diet Make You Infertile & Give You Cystic Ovaries? Richards, Board Certified Clinical Nutritionist. The h. CG diet is based on a 5. It is probably better than being diseased from the adverse side effects of obesity, but it would be a last ditch effort after all other reasonable options have been exhausted. The addition of h. CG (human chorionic gonadotropin) to the diet makes it even more risky, as h. CG will interact with sex hormones in women or men in unpredictable ways.

What hCG level should you hope to see in your pregnancy test? A study of 774 embryo transfers suggests 76 mIU/mL or more. It is important to monitor HCG Numbers and know HCG Weeks. Even though the ranges are huge, they can help ensure a health pregnancy. See the latest trends, data and visualizations from Google. Find out what's trending near you right now. The h. CG diet has become a “medical fad” wherein various doctors, often pretending to be natural health practitioners, offer prescriptions for daily h. CG injections (typically self- administered). In the over- the- counter market there are various homeopathic dilutions of h. CG and amino acid products that seek to mimic the profile of h. CG, calling themselves h. CG diet supplements. In many ways this reminds me of the fen- phen medical weight loss fad that was eventually found to cause heart disease. Usually, I do not bother to write about any other diet, as it would simply be too time consuming. However, I recently became more interested in the topic of the h. CG diet when I was researching eugenics and the FDA and came across a rather extensive body of literature and “scientific” effort (Rockefeller funding) wherein vaccines containing h. CG were being tested on humans as a form of birth control, with potential side effects of sterilization. Maybe those who would consider injecting themselves with h. CG should understand the subject a little bit better. What is h. CG? HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is best known for its role in pregnancy. It enables the corpus luteum to keep producing progesterone to get the pregnancy rolling, while enhancing the attachment of the fertilized egg to the uterus by helping to build the vascular system required to nourish the fetus. Elevated levels of h. CG act throughout pregnancy to facilitate the growth and development of the fetus and are vital for the development of the fetal nervous system and the delivery of nutrition to the fetus. Each month as part of the normal menstrual cycle, small amounts of h. CG are produced by the pituitary gland in conjunction with the surge of luteinizing hormone (LH). This is to help prepare the female system in case a pregnancy should occur. As with any hormone, the timing and the amount are vital to its efficient function. While low levels of h. CG are associated with inability to become pregnant or miscarriage, high levels are associated with Down’s syndrome. High levels of h. CG are also associated with abnormal growths in the reproductive system, such as tumors and cysts, and other dysfunctional situations involving complex hormone dysfunction. In short, when h. CG enters the human system at the right time and in the right amount it has a clear and vital purpose. Any other use of it raises multiple questions. HCG has two subunits to its structure called alpha and beta. The alpha subunit is identical in structure to the luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). The beta subunit, however, is unique to h. CG. This means that injections of h. CG cause a risk of significant hormonal disruption or confusion by potentially binding to receptors for other hormones (since your body is not expecting abnormal intake of h. CG). Indeed, it has been shown that administering h. CG to men boosts estrogen levels, most likely by competitively binding to testosterone/LH receptors. How problematic, abnormal h. CG intake will be for any one person will vary considerably upon their underlying inflammatory situation and pre- existing state of hormonal confusion, which, as a baseline, are typically quite high in an overweight person. It is completely logical to assume that h. CG could provoke an autoimmune reaction, especially in women, that could result in serious ovarian damage (a clear problem identified in the h. CG vaccines I will discuss shortly). This has also been found to occur in women taking h. CG. Women with PCOS have excessive LH signaling, which likely correlates to inappropriate elevation of their pituitary production of h. CG, which is the likely compound that makes cysts grow, along with higher estradiol. An animal study shows that administered h. CG that is causing cysts, also promotes excessive levels of testosterone and estradiol in the female system, fueling the problem. Now we go from science to politics, entering into the long- standing agenda of the eugenics movement, typically funded by the Rockefellers and Rockefeller front groups such as the New York based Population Council. The goal of these Rockefeller- funded vaccines is to combine h. CG with a toxic adjuvant so that an immune response is mounted against h. CG. In other words, by causing a surge of h. CG along with a toxic inflammatory situation then the vaccine is supposed to teach the immune system that h. CG should be attacked, i. CG. This would make a woman unable to become pregnant as long as the antibodies against h. CG remain elevated. Human experimentation with Rockefeller’s h. CG vaccine have been going on for decades, mostly in India or other countries targeted by the elite for population reduction. This is not something they are hiding from anyone, as they even publish studies trying to figure out how to make the vaccines work better. Their eugenics agenda has run into some resistance, as there exist numerous health concerns surrounding the vaccine. However, research on h. CG vaccines and other pregnancy- stopping vaccines is in full swing. While the h. CG vaccines are different from injecting h. CG, this issues raises some important questions. Clearly, disruption of h. CG by provoking auto- antibodies against h. CG is a way to stop pregnancy. It is only at that time that h. CG levels naturally elevate. HCG injections will elevate the levels of this hormone at non- pregnant times and thus, being an unnatural substance for that time, could readily provoke an autoimmune reaction. There are no studies proving this as it has simply not been looked at in people or animals, but it is one obvious concern any person should have. Any person with any type of pre- existing autoimmune problem, such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, which is fairly common in people who struggle with weight loss, would be at increased risk for developing autoantibodies to h. CG, which could injure the reproductive system in women or men, and could cause infertility. There is No Proof h. CG Does Anything for Weight Loss The use of h. CG and a 5. 00 calorie diet has been going on for half a century. It has been debunked and now reinvented through misleading internet hype. The most obvious question to ask is simply, do you lose more weight on a 5. CG? These were published in 1. All of them show that h. CG does nothing to improve weight loss compared to the diet alone. All of them show that hunger was not better reduced by h. CG compared to a saline injection. The use of h. CG to enhance the benefits of calorie restriction is not supported by any published science. Is a 5. 00 Calorie Per Day Diet Safe and Effective? Let’s begin with the effective aspect of this question. Unless your are metabolically frozen or in horrid health, you will lose weight eating 5. Your metabolism is set to burn how many calories per day you now eat. Thus, if your are eating 2,0. At that point your body will think you are starving and leptin will command your metabolism to slow down to efficiently use 5. Once this happens your body has evoked that survival- oriented, leptin- orchestrated response to starvation – which not only slows down your metabolism on the front end but commands that extra calories are stored as fat when you start eating more in the future, a very necessary mechanism for starvation recovery. The only way to escape this leptin- orchestrated recovery mechanism is to exercise like crazy and keep your calories at a low level (more like 1. Most people won’t or don’t do that, thus rapidly gaining weight back that they have lost while starving themselves. The process of extreme weight loss followed by weight regain is physically traumatic, and the person would have been better off not doing the 5. In other words, if you want to do a 5. The question of safety is more complicated and depends on the person’s other health problems besides being overweight along with the person’s fitness. The greater the number of other health problems the riskier the diet will be. The more fit a person is, the safer the diet will be. Many things can go wrong. For example, rapid weight loss can cause an already sluggish gall bladder to become super- saturated and congested, causing a need to remove the gall bladder. Any “weak spot” in a person’s health will be tested by such a diet, making medical supervision by a smart doctor essential. In the past I would have warned wholeheartedly against the 5. A recently published small study with 1. That is a rather stunning result, especially considering the number of adults with type 2 diabetes who are placed on an endless supply of drugs that never fix anything. Thus, the risk of a low- calorie diet may need to be viewed in the context of the impending health doom if the person doesn’t do something to change. Safe and Effective Dieting In order to effectively and safely lose weight you must learn to tame the leptin tiger. You must learn how to restore the fitness of your fat. This subject goes far beyond the number of calories you consume and speaks directly to the health and efficiency of your metabolism. When you eat in harmony with leptin, you can extract more energy from less food. You are much less likely to slip into “starvation” metabolism. I explain these common deficiencies in my article, The Leptin Diet Weight Loss Challenge #1 – Overview and Basic Needs. Walking is fine, but it is not enough if you are able to do more. On. It was during his term that he planned, campaigned for and carried out the Marshall Plan. The Marshall Plan (officially the European Recovery Program, ERP) was an American initiative to aid Western Europe, in which the United States gave over $1. The plan was in operation for four years beginning April 8, 1. The goals of the United States were to rebuild war- devastated regions, remove trade barriers, modernize industry, make Europe prosperous once more, and prevent the spread of communism. A larger amount was given to the major industrial powers, as the prevailing opinion was that their resuscitation was essential for general European revival. Somewhat more aid per capita was also directed towards the Allied nations, with less for those that had been part of the Axis or remained neutral. The largest recipient of Marshall Plan money was the United Kingdom (receiving about 2. France (1. 8%) and West Germany (1. Some 1. 8 European countries received Plan benefits. The United States provided similar aid programs in Asia, but they were not called . The plan had bipartisan support in Washington, where the Republicans controlled Congress and the Democrats controlled the White House with Harry S. The Plan was largely the creation of State Department officials, especially William L. Kennan, with help from the Brookings Institution, as requested by Senator Arthur H. Vandenberg, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. In order to combat the effects of the Marshall Plan, the USSR developed its own economic plan, known as the Molotov Plan. It was not as effective as the Marshall Plan, and in some ways contradictory to eastern block countries that served alongside the axis powers in WWII. It offered the same aid to the Soviet Union and its allies, but they refused to accept it. Secretary Marshall became convinced Stalin had no interest in helping restore economic health in Western Europe. During the four years the plan was in effect, the United States donated $1. European countries that joined the Organisation for European Economic Co- operation. The $1. 3 billion was in the context of a US GDP of $2. American aid to Europe between the end of the war and the start of the Plan that is counted separately from the Marshall Plan. The plan looked to the future, and did not focus on the destruction caused by the war. Much more important were efforts to modernize European industrial and business practices using high- efficiency American models, reducing artificial trade barriers, and instilling a sense of hope and self- reliance. A common American interpretation of the program's role in European recovery was expressed by Paul Hoffman, head of the Economic Cooperation Administration, in 1. Congress Marshall aid had provided the . Sustained aerial bombardment during the war had badly damaged most major cities, and industrial facilities were especially hard- hit. Food shortages were severe, especially in the harsh winter of 1. From July 1. 94. 5 through June 1. United States shipped 1. Europe and Japan. It amounted to one- sixth of the American food supply, and provided 3. Although most small towns and villages had not suffered as much damage, the destruction of transportation left them economically isolated. None of these problems could be easily remedied, as most nations engaged in the war had exhausted their treasuries in the process. They were much more prosperous than before the war but exports were a small factor in their economy. Much of the Marshall Plan aid would be used by the Europeans to buy manufactured goods and raw materials from the United States and Canada. In 1. 94. 7 the European economies were still well below their pre- war levels and were showing few signs of growth. Agricultural production was 8. In the West, bombing had destroyed 5,0. The drop in food production can be attributed to a drought that killed a major portion of the wheat crop while a severe winter destroyed the majority of the wheat crop the following year. This caused most Europeans to rely on a 1,5. Industrial production fell more than half and reached pre- war levels only at the end of 1. The currency reform in 1. Germany to restore stability by encouraging production. The reform revalued old currency and deposits and introduced new currency. Taxes were also reduced and Germany prepared to remove economic barriers. The emerging doctrine of containment (as opposed to rollback) argued that the United States needed to substantially aid non- communist countries to stop the spread of Soviet influence. There was also some hope that the Eastern Bloc nations would join the plan, and thus be pulled out of the emerging Soviet bloc, but that did not happen. The sign says: We want coal, we want bread. In January 1. 94. Truman appointed retired General George Marshall as Secretary of State. In July 1. 94. 7 Marshall scrapped Joint Chiefs of Staff Directive 1. Morgenthau Plan under the personal supervision of Roosevelt's treasury secretary Henry Morgenthau, Jr., which had decreed . Also in March 1. 94. US President Herbert Hoover, in one of his reports from Germany, argued for a change in US occupation policy, amongst other things stating: There is the illusion that the New Germany left after the annexations can be reduced to a 'pastoral state' (Morgenthau's vision). It cannot be done unless we exterminate or move 2. The productivity of Europe cannot be restored without the restoration of Germany as a contributor to that productivity. Over $1. 4 billion was spent or loaned during the postwar period through the end of 1. Marshall Plan. Much of this aid was designed to restore infrastructure and help refugees. Britain, for example, received an emergency loan of $3. These efforts had important effects, but they lacked any central organization and planning, and failed to meet many of Europe's more fundamental needs. UNRRA provided billions of dollars of rehabilitation aid, and helped about 8 million refugees. It ceased operation of displaced persons camps in Europe in 1. UN agencies. Soviet negotiations. Marshall gave the address to the graduating class of Harvard University on June 5, 1. Standing on the steps of Memorial Church in Harvard Yard, he offered American aid to promote European recovery and reconstruction. The speech described the dysfunction of the European economy and presented a rationale for US aid. The modern system of the division of labor upon which the exchange of products is based is in danger of breaking down. Aside from the demoralizing effect on the world at large and the possibilities of disturbances arising as a result of the desperation of the people concerned, the consequences to the economy of the United States should be apparent to all. It is logical that the United States should do whatever it is able to do to assist in the return of normal economic health to the world, without which there can be no political stability and no assured peace. Our policy is not directed against any country, but against hunger, poverty, desperation and chaos. Any government that is willing to assist in recovery will find full co- operation on the part of the USA. Its purpose should be the revival of a working economy in the world so as to permit the emergence of political and social conditions in which free institutions can exist. Marshall was convinced that economic stability would provide political stability in Europe. He offered aid, but the European countries had to organize the program themselves. The speech, written by Charles Bohlen, contained virtually no details and no numbers. More a proposal than a plan, it was a challenge to European leaders to cooperate and coordinate. It asked Europeans to create their own plan for rebuilding Europe, indicating the United States would then fund this plan. The administration felt that the plan would likely be unpopular among many Americans, and the speech was mainly directed at a European audience. In an attempt to keep the speech out of American papers, journalists were not contacted, and on the same day, Truman called a press conference to take away headlines. In contrast, Dean Acheson, an Under Secretary of State, was dispatched to contact the European media, especially the British media, and the speech was read in its entirety on the BBC. The two agreed that it would be necessary to invite the Soviets as the other major allied power. Marshall's speech had explicitly included an invitation to the Soviets, feeling that excluding them would have been a sign of distrust. State Department officials, however, knew that Stalin would almost certainly not participate, and that any plan that would send large amounts of aid to the Soviets was unlikely to be approved by Congress. Initial reactions. Every country of Europe was invited, with the exceptions of Spain (a World War II neutral that had sympathized with Axis powers) and the small states of Andorra, San Marino, Monaco, and Liechtenstein. The Soviet Union was invited with the understanding that it would likely refuse. Get breaking entertainment news and the latest celebrity stories from AOL. For many years I suspected that I had some form of thyroid problem based on my own research and symptoms like dry skin, occasional fatigue, trouble losing weight after having a baby, and hair thinning, but I was never able to get answers from conventional tests which showed that my T3 and T4 thyroid hormones were in the normal range. Thankfully, I found an amazing doctor who specializes in hormones and endocrine problems and with additional blood testing and a thyroid ultrasound, he was able to finally figure out what I was struggling with: Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis (an autoimmune condition where the body creates antibodies to the thyroid). What are Autoimmune Problems? It turns out that many different disorders and diseases are autoimmune in nature but they manifest in different ways. As the Paleo Mom explains: Autoimmune disease is caused by the immune system losing the ability to differentiate proteins belonging to your own body with proteins belonging to a foreign invader (like a bacteria, virus or parasite). What causes symptoms is the build up of damage to cells, tissues and/or organs in the body. Which proteins/cells are attacked is what separates once disease from another. In Rheumatoid Arthritis, the tissues of your joints are attacked. In psoriasis, proteins within the layers of cells that make up your skin are attacked. However, the root cause is the same. Genetic predisposition to autoimmunity makes up about one third of your risk of developing an autoimmune disease. The other two thirds of your risk come from environmental factors, which include: diet, lifestyle, infections (both prior and persistent) exposure to toxins, hormones, weight, etc. While you cannot control your genetics or whether or not you had mono as a kid, you do have an immense amount of control over your diet and lifestyle (and the extent that these affect hormones and weight and even toxin exposure). By removing the foods that contribute to a leaky gut, gut dysbiosis (the wrong numbers, relative quantities, or types of microorganisms typically growing in the wrong locations in your gut), hormone imbalance, and that stimulate inflammation and the immune system, you can create the opportunity for your body to heal. By addressing important lifestyle factors and changing your focus to eating nutrient- dense foods that support optimal gut health (and optimal health of your gut microorganisms), that restore levels of important nutrients and provide all of the building blocks that your body needs to heal and properly regulate the immune system, that help resolve inflammation and support organ function, you create an environment in your body conducive to healing. Why Other Diets May Not Work. From my understanding, once the body has an autoimmune reaction, it can sometimes be necessary to remove a wide variety of potentially inflammatory foods for a short time and then reintroduce to test the response. The idea is similar to the theory behind the GAPS protocol but geared toward addressing autoimmune issues instead. Since the body is in a state of heightened immune response, removing these foods can help it get back into a state of balance and reduce the autoimmune reaction. Technically, an autoimmune disease cannot be “cured”, but in many cases, it is possible to put the condition into remission with careful diet and lifestyle changes. My Experience. I switched to an autoimmune protocol diet after being diagnosed with Hashimotos in hopes of giving my immune system a little time to recover. I was hopeful that it would be beneficial, but I was AMAZED at how quickly it helped. Within the first week, I saw my bloating go away, my thyroid nodule felt noticeably smaller, I had more energy (after the first couple of days), and my skin improved. Over the course of the almost two months I did the strict protocol, I lost some of my stubborn weight and felt incredibly better. It also helped me identify foods that I was not responding well to, but that I didn’t realize were problematic (like eggs, which was confirmed by blood test later). I was able to reintroduce many of the foods after that time without a problem and I felt continually better (until I created a flare by not sleeping and stressing about finishing my book). Sleep and stress are both huge factors in overall health and are especially important for those with any kind of health condition. The Specifics of the Autoimmune Diet. The general idea of the autoimmune diet is that you are removing any potentially inflammatory foods, but the specifics are a bit more difficult. Some sources consider foods like fruit and sweet potatoes ok, while others do not. For reference, some sources that I find most helpful are: This particular post from the Paleo Mom is really helpful in understanding what foods are considered safe and which ones to temporarily avoid. I’ll also be posting more autoimmune friendly recipes and meal plans soon, but those are great resources for getting started. You can download the complete food list I used by clicking here (PDF). It can seem overwhelming, but this way of eating is actually relatively simple if you follow a template. My typical day on the autoimmune diet was: Breakfast– A scramble of meat and cooked vegetables, a cup of homemade bone broth, some fermented vegetables, and supplements. Lunch– A huge salad with leftover protein (meat, offal or fish) and a small piece of fruit, a cup of bone broth, fermented water kefir or kombucha and olives. Dinner– A stir fry with some type of protein (meat, offal, seafood) with a lot of vegetables and allowed spices, evening supplements and at least 1 cup of healthy starch like cooked winter squash, pumpkin, etc. I also made a lot of stuffed squashes and soups. We rely heavily on big salads, stir frys and casseroles while on the autoimmune diet. When I first started, it seemed like I couldn’t eat anything and I was depriving myself of everything, but it is important to remember that many times the body is deficient in certain nutrients because of an autoimmune disease so during the course of the 3. I focused on extensively nourishing my body with as many high quality proteins, vegetables and healthy fats as I could consume. I may have been tired of my food choices at times, but I certainly never went hungry. I also focused on consuming a TON of vegetables during this time, after talking to Dr. Terry Wahls and reading her book, The Wahls Protocol. Wahls emphasizes the importance of consuming at least 9 cups of vegetables a day, especially brightly colored vegetables, leafy greens, and onions and garlic. Personally, I found that these factors were equally important to recovery for me: Sleep. I love to stay up late and skimp on sleep so I can get more done. My body does not love this. I’ve found that when I sleep at least 8- 8. I see my health markers improve (blood tests, fasting blood glucose, etc). Stress reduction. Also a tough one for me, but stress can have as much of an impact as diet on gut health and hormone levels. I found that even with a good diet, I started to notice symptoms creeping back in while under the stress of finishing my book. Supplements. I hesitated to include this part because if diet, stress and sleep aren’t under control, this won’t help at all, but I found certain supplements helped tremendously once I had optimized other factors. I personally take: WP- Throid thyroid medication (under the care of my doctor), Betaine HCL with protein meals, 5- MTHF and Methyl- B1. Folate, Probiotics, Fermented Cod Liver Oil, Cortisol support, Omega- 3s, Vitamin D (and sunshine daily in the morning), Magnesium, L- glutamine, Gelatin, and Vitamin C. I would highly recommend seeing a good functional medicine doctor and finding out what you personally need before taking any supplements. Autoimmune Diet Encouragement. This diet is difficult. Ready to learn more? The Sleekgeek REBOOT will show you how certain nutrient- depleted and inflammation- promoting processed foods combined with the demand for convenience and quick fixes has taken over modern society for the worst. It has lead to a sub- optimal quality of life for the average person and created a heavy reliance on healthcare sickcare medication and stimulants to keep them functioning on a daily basis. Our program is built upon the Paleo Diet’s fundamental concept that we are genetically adapted to eating certain foods for optimal health and performance. It recognises that many modern- day processed food- products containing things like sugar, grains, dairy, and artificial ingredients are infamous for having a negative impact on your health and are responsible for much of the chronic illness and disease that is plaguing the world at a startlingly unprecedented rate. You will be surprised by how well your body responds to just a few days of eating real food that provides it with all the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients it needs to function properly.========. Water as a foundation, supplemented if you wish by teas, coffee, freshly juiced vegetables, fruit- infused- water, and coconut water)We believe these are some of the most nutrient- dense, high- quality foods available that will help you to build a solid foundation of good nutrition, while also being least problematic (in terms of inflammation, allergies, contamination, toxins, addictive qualities, etc) when it comes to achieving optimal health. This Green List above addresses the issue of what is “normal” to eat versus what is “average” to eat. When you really take a close look at what the average person is eating, very little of it is food such as those listed above that are still in their original state. It usually has been extensively processed, had unhealthy ingredients added, or somewhat changed in a way that reduces the amount of useful nutrition it provides. Common foods are increasing in their entertainment, convenience, and pleasurable value – but losing essential functionality and nutrition. Food is not just “fuel” or energy, it is information that communicates with every cell in your body! Along with enough high- quality energy from the 3 main Macronutrients in your diet (proteins, carbohydrates, and fats) – for good health it is essential that we also consume enough micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), phytochemicals (non- nutritive plant chemicals that have protective or disease preventive properties, such as flavonoids), zoochemicals (EPA, DHA, CLA, Creatine, Carnosine, etc), and water. Unfortunately sufficient nutrients (especially high- quality and bioavailable ones) are rare to find in today’s common processed foods. Interpretation of what is “normal” is actually just “average” and it is based off what the majority of others around us are eating or what the media is showing us. But now consider what else is normal in today’s society? We see people that are tired of all their constant aches and pains, they carry excess body fat, they feel sluggish and have low energy, they sleep poorly, and always seem to suffer from bouts of heartburn, constipation, and just a general lack of ability to enjoy every moment of life to the fullest. If you want to be part of the seemingly “superhuman” group of people (who are really just people living life with their bodies functioning at its normal, optimal capacity), you probably need to take better care of your body more than what the average person does. That’s reasonable right? This is why we challenge you to try the Sleekgeek REBOOT for 3. Even though we just listed a long list of good stuff above, you may already be saying to yourself: “What on Earth is there possibly still left to eat?!” or “There is no way that I could give up my cereal in the morning and milk in my coffee!” This is because our society has become so conditioned into accepting fast food, breakfast cereals, chocolate bars, slices of toast, caramel muffins, pizza, microwave meals, and other conveniences as part of our everyday lives. That is not food. The problem is that they are food- like products which almost always contain toxic artificial ingredients and are devoid of beneficial nutritional value. Many have been proven to cause a significant amount of systemic inflammation in the body, damage our gut and digestive tract, exacerbate allergies and skin conditions, disrupt proper hormonal functioning, and promote the storage of unwanted body fat. The result is that people are becoming overfed yet undernourished. In contrast, food should be nourishing. When you eat you should feel satisfied and sustained without the need to gorge and binge, and yet still somehow be crippled with cravings a mere 2 hours later. Each meal should contribute positively towards your overall vitality and create optimal conditions within your body for you to thrive so that you can perform at your best. Society is always looking for the “secret”. That magic pill or super food that they can add to their diet in order to solve all of their problems. But that just is the problem. All the stuff that has been added to our diets! Instead of looking for a band- aid for the problem, we should be focusing on the cause and removing it from our diet. It is important to understand that the REBOOT is proscriptive far more than it is prescriptive. This means it identifies foods that are doing your body more harm than good and eliminates them, going straight to the root of the problem. What do you have left? High- quality, non- toxic, nutrient- dense sources of food that are full of the necessary micronutrients that the human body thrives on. It gives permission to eat certain exceptions, such as butter – but cautious the consumption of certain allowed foods such as dates or non- dairy milks. Starchy vegetables – Consume in moderation, ideally after or to fuel a workout. Yes, 1 teaspoon of sugar EACH. Useful as a natural sweetener in things like smoothies.)Dried fruit – Allowed, but VERY high in sugar and should not be abused / eaten frequently / eaten in large quantities. Useful in homemade trail mixes along with nuts / seeds / coconut while hiking and exercising.)Vinegars – Allowed as an exception. A great way to make salads tastier and encourage eating healthy foods. Make homemade if possible.)Pseudo- Junk Foods and “Healthy Treats” – Strongly discouraged, healthy ingredients can still be eaten in unhealthy amounts, but may provide a psychological relief to some and still better than actual junk food. Hopefully it sounds reasonable to you and makes sense. Ready to get started? This is so exciting, well done! Step 1: Do a quick re- cap of the guidelines: Green List . Feel free to ask any questions you might have after reading through all of the information above. One fad diet claims to have medical experts' stamp of approval. Badly- typed, copied multiple times, passed on from one person to the other and found in numerous incarnations on the Internet, the Sacred Heart Diet has the reputation of being a soup diet given to overweight patients prior to heart surgery. However, medical institutions associated with this fad diet have gone out of their way to disclaim their association with it. The soup diet that's purportedly fed to patients before heart surgery has reached urban legend status, says the American Heart Association, or AHA, which devoted an entire web page to the diet. The diet goes by many monikers, one of the more common names being the Sacred Heart Memorial Diet. Among the soup diet's many aliases are the Cleveland Clinic Diet, the Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital Diet, the Miami Heart Institute Diet, the Spokane Heart Diet, T. J.’s Miracle Soup Diet, the Cabbage Soup Diet, the Basic Fat Burning Soup Diet and . And here's where things get confusing: The Cabbage Soup Diet, aka the Sacred Heart Diet, is also sometimes referred to as the Mayo Clinic Diet. And the Cleveland Clinic Diet is also called the grapefruit diet. According to Every. Diet. org, the Sacred Heart Hospital in Montreal, Canada formally announced in 2. The Cleveland Clinic, too, indicates on its website that it is not associated with the diet. The AHA – which has been falsely credited with a phony fad diet that has ice cream, hot dogs, eggs and cheese on the menu – also indicates that it had no part in the development of a soup diet for heart surgery patients. A March 1. 99. 6 New York Times article describes this soup diet as the . Pink Shares Gym Selfie, Says She's 'Obese' by 'Regular Standards': 'Stay Off That Scale, Ladies!'. Elaine Reid, director of food and nutrition at the Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital in Spokane told the Times that she receives hundreds of letters about the diet from all over the country – and even outside of the United States. In 1. 99. 6, Reid told the Times that the diet has been in circulation for around 1. There are many versions of the Sacred Heart Diet; however, Every. Diet. org indicates that one of the more common recipes lists the following ingredients: stewed tomatoes, green onions, nonfat beef broth, a package of chicken noodle soup mix, celery, green beans, carrots and green peppers seasoned with salt, pepper, curry powder and parsley. Sacred Heart Diet is a 7-day soup based fad for rapid weight loss. Also called the Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital diet. Recipes and meal plans included. Your Health Care Team Acute myocardial infarction (MI) remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Myocardial infarction occurs when myocardial ischemia, a diminished.
The ingredients are chopped into pieces, covered with water and cooked. On the Sacred Heart Diet, which lasts for seven days, you can eat as much of the soup as you want per day; however, the diet integrates different food types on each day of the week. On the first day, dieters can have the soup and all the fruit they want, except bananas. Day two on the diet includes the soup and all vegetables, including a baked potato for dinner. You can have soup and all of the fruits and vegetables you like on day three, with the exception of a baked potato. Day four of the diet includes the soup, at least three bananas and as much skim milk as you want. On the fifth day of the soup diet, 1. Day six lets you eat as many beef steaks as you like, unlimited vegetables – leafy greens are suggested – but no baked potato and at least one serving of soup. On the last day of the diet, brown rice, vegetables and unsweetened fruit juice are added to the menu – along with the soup. Soup- based diets often claim you can lose up to 1. However, Every. Diet. Org points out that many of the pounds you shed on such a diet are due to water loss, and you'll likely put them on right after you go off the the diet. The Cleveland Clinic cautions you against diets that restrict your menu and place you on a rigid eating plan that you can't sustain for the rest of your life. The clinic recommends a Mediterranean diet low in dairy and fatty meats and rich in plant- based foods such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans and peas, and unsaturated fats such as olive oil, nuts and seeds. The people began streaming to the Temple to beg mercy and deliverance of God. As Jehoshaphat led out in the prayer service, he called upon God to change the circumstances. Hadn't God specially protected His own in the past? Hadn't He given this land to His chosen people? So Jehoshaphat pleaded, ? For we have no power . His message brought courage and direction to the fearful people. You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, . In the morning King Jehoshaphat told his troops to ! As the anthems of faith filled the air, the Lord was at work bringing confusion among the armies allied against Judah. The slaughter was so great that . But did 2. 18prophecy cease to function with the closing of the Biblical canon? To find the answer let us retrace prophetic history. The Prophetic Gift in Bible Times. Though sin ended face- to- face communication between God and human beings (Isa. God did not end His intimacy with humanity; instead, He developed other ways of communicating. He began sending His messages of encouragement, warning, and reproof through prophets. In the Scriptures a prophet is . Its meaning is expressed in Exodus 7: 1, 2: . You shall speak all that I command you. And Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh.'. And as Aaron communicated Moses' words to Pharaoh, so the prophet conveyed God's words to the people. The term prophet, then, designates a divinely appointed spokesperson for God. The Greek equivalent of the Hebrew nabi is prophetes, from which the English word prophet is derived. Sam. 2. 4: 1. 1; 2 Kings 1. The terms prophet and seer are closely related. The designation seer emphasized the prophets' reception of a divine message. The Functions of the Prophetic Gift in the New Testament. It encourages believers to desire especially this gift (1 Cor. The New Testament suggests that prophets had the following functions: 4. They assisted in founding of the church. They initiated the church's mission outreach. They edified the church. Along with other gifts, God gave prophecy to the church to prepare believers . They united and protected the church. They warned of future difficulties. In response the church initiated a relief program to assist those who suffered because of that famine (Acts 1. Other prophets warned of Paul's arrest and imprisonment in Jerusalem (Acts 2. They confirmed the faith in times of controversy. Then, through prophets, the Spirit reaffirmed the believers in the true doctrine. After conveying the council's decision to the membership, . But the Bible reveals the church's special need for divine guidance during the crisis at the time of the end; it testifies to a continuing need for and provision of the prophetic gift after New Testament times. Continuation of Spiritual Gifts. Because the church has not yet reached this experience, it still needs all the gifts of the Spirit. These gifts, including the gift of prophecy, will continue to operate for the benefit of God's people until Christ returns. Consequently, Paul cautioned 2. These gifts have not always manifested themselves abundantly in the Christian church. After the death of the apostles, prophets enjoyed respectability in many circles until A. D. 3. 00. 6 But the decline of spirituality in the church and the resultant apostasy (see chapter 1. Holy Spirit. At the same time false prophets caused a loss of confidence in the prophetic gift. The decline of the prophetic gift during certain periods in church history did not mean that God had withdrawn the gift permanently. The Bible indicates that, as the end approaches, this gift will be present to assist the church through those difficult times. More than that, it points to an increased activity of this gift. The Prophetic Gift Just Before the Second Advent. In a similar way we may expect Him to send the prophetic gift again to proclaim the Second Advent so that everyone will have the opportunity to prepare to meet the Saviour. In fact, Christ mentions the rise of false prophets as one of the signs that His coming is near (Matt. If there were to be no true prophets during the time of the end, Christ would have warned against anyone claiming that gift. His warning against false prophets implies that there would be true prophets, as well. The prophet Joel predicted a special outpouring of the prophetic gift just before Christ's return. And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord'. Peter, citing Joel's prophecy, pointed out that God had promised such blessings (Acts 2: 2- 2. However, we may ask whether Joel's prophecy reached its ultimate fulfillment in Pentecost or whether there must yet be another, more complete, fulfillment. We have no evidence that the phenomena in the sun and moon that Joel spoke of either preceded or followed that outpouring of the Spirit. These phenomena did not occur until many centuries later (see chapter 2. Pentecost, then, was a foretaste of the full manifestation of the Spirit before the Second Advent. Like Palestine's early rain, which fell in the autumn, shortly after the crops were planted, the outpouring of 2. Holy Spirit at Pentecost inaugurated the dispensation of the Spirit. The complete and final fulfillment of Joel's prophecy corresponds to the latter rain, which, falling in the spring, ripened the grain (Joel 2: 2. Likewise, the final bestowal of God's Spirit will take place just before the Second Advent, after the predicted signs in the sun, moon, and stars (cf. Like the latter rain, this final outpouring of the Spirit will ripen the harvest of the earth (Matt. During the first, which extended from A. D. 1. 2: 6, 1. 4; see chapter 1. Again, just before the Second Advent, Satan will attack . Revelation characterizes the loyal believers who make up the remnant as they . That the phrase . These parallel expressions make it clear that it is the prophets who have . Commenting on this text, James Moffat wrote, . The testimony of Jesus is practically equivalent to Jesus testifying (xxii. It is the self- revelation of Jesus (according to . Jeremiah linked the demise of this gift with lawlessness. Revelation identifies the possession of the two as distinctive characteristics of the end- time church; its members . God gave the prophetic gift to the . It comes as no surprise, then, to find that gift among those who are involved in the ultimate exodus—the escape from sin- polluted Planet Earth to the heavenly Canaan. This exodus, which will follow the Second Advent, is the final and complete fulfillment of Isaiah 1. To help them survive this most intense conflict of the ages, God in His loving- kindness gave His people the assurance that they would not be alone. The testimony of Jesus, the Spirit of prophecy, would guide them safely to their final objective—unification with their Saviour at the Second Advent. The following illustration explains the relationship between the Bible and post- Biblical instances of the prophetic gift: . The owner of the vessel gives us a book of directions, telling us that it contains instructions sufficient for our whole journey, and that if we will heed them, we shall reach in safety our port of destination. We find that its author lays down general principles to govern us in our voyage, and instructs us as far as practicable, judging the various contingencies that may arise till the end; but he also tells us that the latter part of our journey will be especially perilous; that the features of the coast are ever changing by reason of quicksands and tempests; 'but for this part of the journey,' says he, 'I have provided you a pilot, who will meet you, and give you such directions as the surrounding circumstances and dangers may require; and to him you must give heed.' With these directions we reach the perilous times specified, and the pilot, according to promise, appears. But some of the crew, as he offers his services, rise up against him. We stand upon that, and that alone; we want nothing of you.' Who now heeds that original book of directions? In post- Biblical times it is not to supersede or add to Scripture, because the canon of Scripture is now closed. The prophetic gift functions in the end- time much as it did in the time of the apostles. Its thrust is to uphold the Bible as the basis of faith and practice, to explain its teachings, and to apply its principles to daily life. It is involved in establishing and edifying the church, enabling it to carry out its divinely appointed mission. The prophetic gift reproves, warns, guides, and encourages both individuals and the church, protecting them from heresy and unifying them on Bible truths. Post- Biblical prophets function much like prophets such as Nathan, Gad, Asaph, Shemaiah, Azariah, Eliezer, Ahijah, and Obed, Miriam, Deborah, Huldah , Simeon, John the Baptist, Agabus, Silas, Anna, and Philip's four daughters, who lived in Bible times, but whose testimonies never became a part of the Bible. The same God who spoke through the prophets whose writings are in the Bible inspired these prophets and prophetesses. Their messages did not contradict the previously recorded divine revelation. Testing the Prophetic Gift. Avoid every kind of evil. NIV; cf., 1 John 4: 1). The Bible specifies several guidelines by which we can distinguish the genuine prophetic gift from the spurious. Does the message agree with the Bible? If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. This text implies that messages of any prophet ought to be in harmony with God's law and testimony throughout the Bible. A later prophet must not contradict earlier prophets. The Holy Spirit never contradicts His previously given testimony, for God . Do the predictions come true? That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. Day Diet Cycle 2 Food List. The good news is that the growing body of nutritional research is illuminating the fallacy of this cultural myth. Research has shown that all plants contain protein and at least 1. Ways to Maintain a Balanced Diet Chart. Losing weight in a healthy way is not at all an easy/simple process. Weight loss and maintenance of healthy weight are a never ending process where one must follow a proper diet plan along with regular physical activity like calisthenic exercises program in order to keep weight under control. Many of us assume that, starving for a long period of time can help them in losing weight. But it is high time to know that a sudden and drastic reduction in the amount of calories in your regular diet can make your body compensate by slowing down the metabolism and take the body to a fat storing mode. No doctor and dietician will suggest starving in order to reduce weight. The basic mantra to a healthy and fit body is following a balanced diet chart permanently. Every individual has different calorie requirement based on their age, sex, lifestyle and level of physical activity. It is always better to make small changes in your lifestyle, to have an effective improvement in your physical fitness. If you like to have bread, then instead of having milk bread, go for brown or whole grain bread. These breads are really healthy. And instead of having a rich fatty dessert, you can make a fruit salad for your dessert. Also try replacing normal white sugar with brown sugar, and instead of soft drinks, try best kiwi fruit shake recipes and other fruit smoothies. These small changes in your weight loss diet chart will bring forth effective results in the long run. A healthy diet plan for weight loss will help people to stay fit and promote weight loss in a gradual and healthy way. It is also the ultimate solution to the question of how to overcome obesity and overweight issues. In order to follow a balanced diet chart for weight loss, it is always better to prepare a diet chart and stick to it. Diet chart helps us to know how much quantity of food our body needs and what type of food we are supposed to eat. How Many Calories You Consume in a Day? It is always important to know how many calories you have consumed in a day which will further help you in losing those calories in a systematic way. You can easily burn the calories you just had today. Although, the calorie requirement of each and every person varies with their body weight, age, sex, type of day to day activity and various other factors. Several years ago I sort of accidentally on purpose stumbled on the way to make myself go from average athletic (2. I say accidentally because my only intention was to exercise and eat right and maybe “tone up” a little bit. But each month, my mirror was showing me amazing results, as were the body calipers. The below plan is what worked for me. If you have ever wanted to try getting “ripped” and are already in pretty good shape, give it a shot and see how it works for you! My Get Ripped Diet. When I started, I was already a fairly healthy eater. I had eliminated grains from my diet because of a gluten sensitivity and decided to try to remove most dairy, too, because of a childhood milk allergy. So I was left with fruit, vegetables, lean meats, legumes, tubers, and healthy fats like nuts and avocado. I decided that since I was building muscle, I should focus on lots of protein and veggies, so I made that the central focus of each meal. Here was my daily plan: Meal 1 ? Here’s a 4 week one I created for you. Here were some guidelines I set up for myself: alcohol was limited to social engagements only, and then red wine or clear liquor/soda was top choiceall fruit and carbohydrates consumed before 3pm (read more here about nutrient timing)2. L of water every day (read more here about how much water you should be drinking)organic and grass- fed foods whenever possible“fun” or “cheat” meals once a week, or during social engagements, or when I felt like I needed one, not to exceed 1. I followed these serving sizes. For the most part if I followed this plan I didn’t have to count calories, just journaling for accountability. My Workout to Get Ripped. Before this plan, I alternated traditional strength training and cardio at the gym 5 days a week. I found HIIT bodyweight workouts on You. Tube one day when I couldn’t make it to the gym with a sick child, and after that day I never went back and have been working out at home ever since. Read more here about HIIT training and why you should try it. When you first start HIIT, 1 or 2 times per week is enough. It can be hard on your central nervous system and leave you with too much of a negative energy balance, which will stall your efforts and make you feel like crap. Sub another type of workout in the meantime until you can do it more often. Here is what my workout schedule looked like each week once I worked up to HIIT 3x a week: Monday – 4. Tuesday – active rest day (walking, yoga, etc.)Wednesday – HIIT workout – 1. Thursday – cardio (run or jump rope) 3. Friday – HIIT workout – 1. Saturday – active rest day (walking, yoga, etc)Sunday – HIIT track and field workout, 3. Every day I also walked to pick up my children from school, about 1. I found my HIIT workouts through Zuzana Light, Nike Training Club and just using Google or You. Tube to search. I’m Not Always “Ripped”This is not a year- round plan for me. It’s a tool I use every so often to reach a goal, but it’s not my lifestyle. I used it to get in shape for my wedding. And I use it before summer, or to get ready for a photoshoot. The rest of the year I’m much more flexible with what I eat and how often I eat, although the number one priority is always health. I am still in good shape, but with a little higher body fat percentage. I buckle down and follow these guidelines for 1. I’m back to just eating whole foods and balance. |
